Letter from our firm

There have been some good things that came out of this pandemic.  People pulled together – while maintaining social distancing.  We helped each other.  I continue to be proud of our team, who have worked so hard assisting our clients to navigate in these uncertain times.

Since last March, we have spent a lot of time thinking about how our company is set up, how we run our offices, what kind of flexibility we've offered in the past, and in what ways we can change for the better. We've all learned that things we thought were impossible to do were actually possible.  There are new possibilities that probably would have taken years to accomplish that happened almost overnight.  

Over the past several years, we have been moving toward a new way of working with our clients. While the pandemic presented many challenges to overcome, it also helped us realize that we are better able to help our clients using technology and that we no longer need a physical location.  

We've found the importance of effective communication has never been more prevalent. We have seen this as a large trend, just being aware of how people this year have appreciated one another. When we get on the phone with someone or show up to a zoom meeting, we don't just dive into the task at hand; we ask each other how we're doing. We genuinely care and that's because we're all experiencing something together, at the same time in history. 

With that said, I am proud to announce that Pierce & Company has transitioned into a fully remote working company. Though our working environment has changed, our commitment to your business remains the same. Considering the permanent closing of our physical offices, we are respectfully requesting your help in the following ways:

Please do not send paper documents to any office address. We have safe, secure, and easy to use technologies to send and receive documents and share information with you.  Please contact a team member for assistance; we want you to be comfortable with the tools.  We'll work with you to get you there.

We are no longer able to accept traditional paper checks. While most of our clients utilize some sort of electronic payment, if you are one of the few who have continued to use paper checks, please contact Leslie Harris so that other arrangements can be made.  We have a secure alternative to paper checks, which is far safer than putting a piece of paper with your name, address, signature, and bank account information in the mail.  As your CPA and trusted advisor, you already entrust your most confidential information to us.  We have proven that we are good stewards of that information, and we make the security of your personal information our top priority.

If you feel that you have a unique situation, or feel uncomfortable with this new process, please let us know.  We would be happy to refer you to a colleague who may be able to accommodate you in more traditional ways or assist you to adapt to the new, safer way of doing business.
